Manual medicine is the use of palpation and operator directed techniques to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. Manual medicine is based, in part, on the belief that man is a self regulating being and that the body, when in normal structural relationship, is capable of self healing and defense against disease.

‘The goal of manipulation is to restore maximal pain free movement of the musculoskeletal system in postural balance’.

Osteopathic Manual Medicine (OMM) helps to improve the musculoskeletal balance, and manage the acute and chronic pain. The technics are provided by Doctors and physical therapist with over 20 years experience. Myofascial release, Cyriax, Jon Technique , Maigne Technique and kalterborn  are some of the techniques and methods that we combine.

Manual medicine diagnosis is made using a comprehensive history, detailed and specific physical examination including Osteopathic, orthopedic, neurologic, rheumatologic and Chiropractic exams, appropriate radiologic studies and the specific laying on of hands to palpate musculoskeletal parameters including but not limited to asymmetry of related musculoskeletal components, range of motion abnormalities of mobility, tissue texture changes and circulation of fluids.

The basic principles of Orthopedic Manual Medicine are:

1) Every pain has a source.

2) Treatment must reach the source.

3) Treatment must benefit

the source in order to relieve the pain.

Most sources of pain in the musculoskeletal system can be localized to a specific tissue. We look carefully in a systematic manner to isolate the cause of pain, and then treat it specifically. A specific diagnosis leads to successful treatment.
